WHAT IS PILOT SEASON?
Pilot season is between January and April when the studios create samples of potential new shows. During the beginning of pilot season, major networks purchase pilot scripts. The shows that get greenlit, start production in mid year.
WHAT IS EPISODIC SEASON?
Episodic season is the time of year when the episodes of many TV shows are being cast. With TV pilots now sold and the leading actors hired, the casting of recurring roles, guest stars and co-stars begins. This is when working actors have a chance to get really busy.
